Organizations are the top-level container for teams using SimPilot. They provide shared projects, centralized administration, and enterprise authentication.
Creating an organization
Create your organization from the settings page. You become the Owner with full administrative control. From there, invite team members and configure access policies.
Memberships and roles
Every organization member has one of three roles:
| Role | Capabilities |
|---|
| Owner | Full administrative control. Manage billing, SSO, guardrails, and all settings. Transfer ownership. |
| Admin | Manage members, projects, and knowledge base. Configure guardrails and budgets. Cannot manage billing or transfer ownership. |
| Member | Create and run simulations within assigned projects. Access shared knowledge base. |
Inviting members
Invite new members by email. They receive an invitation link and join with the role you assign. Pending invitations can be revoked before acceptance.
Single sign-on (SSO)
Connect your identity provider for single sign-on:
- Users authenticate through your existing identity provider
- No separate SimPilot passwords to manage
- Automatic session management aligned with your org's security policies
- Supports SAML and OIDC protocols
When SSO is enabled, you can enforce it as the only login method for your organization. Password-based login is disabled for all members.
SCIM provisioning
Automate user lifecycle management with SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management):
- Auto-provisioning: New users in your identity provider are automatically added to SimPilot
- Auto-deprovisioning: When a user is removed from your identity provider, their SimPilot access is revoked
- Group sync: Map identity provider groups to SimPilot roles and project access
- No manual management: User accounts stay in sync without admin intervention
Project-level access
Beyond org-level roles, assign per-project roles for fine-grained access control:
| Project role | Access |
|---|
| Owner | Full control over the project, its settings, and member access |
| Editor | Create and modify simulations, upload files, run studies |
| Viewer | Read-only access to simulation results and reports |
Project roles are independent of org roles -- a Member can be a project Owner for their team's work.
Slack integration
Connect your Slack workspace to receive notifications in your team's channels:
- Simulation completion and failure alerts
- Review requests and approval notifications
- Budget threshold warnings
- Customizable per-channel: choose which events go where
