Defined term / validation

QoI

Quantity of interest — a value the case must extract, validate, and report.

Definition

A QoI carries name, units, scope (region, surface, line, time window), extraction method (function-object, parser, post-script), tolerance or uncertainty, and the evidence path used to compute it. Declared in the ValidationSpec before extraction so the solver pack can wire the right monitors.
